Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of all services provided by SageIT Services through the DaChurchMan platform, including the web dashboard, per-church mobile applications, DaChurchMan Social, Worship Console, Worship Studio, DaChurchMan Pay, and all related services.

This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and any Service Agreement between SageIT Services and a subscribing church. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of access.

2. Intended Use

DaChurchMan is designed exclusively for legitimate church administration and community engagement. All use of the platform must be consistent with this purpose. Acceptable uses include:

  • Managing church membership records, attendance, and administrative data.
  • Processing and tracking church finances (tithes, offerings, donations, budgets).
  • Communicating with church members through approved channels (SMS, push notifications, in-app chat).
  • Publishing sermons, events, announcements, and church media.
  • Operating worship presentations and live broadcasts through Console and Studio.
  • Engaging with the church community through DaChurchMan Social.
  • Processing payments through DaChurchMan Pay for church-related transactions.

3. Prohibited Conduct

You must not use any DaChurchMan service to:

3.1 Unlawful or Harmful Activity

  • Engage in any activity that violates the laws of Ghana or any applicable jurisdiction.
  • Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any financial crime.
  • Collect, store, or process personal data without appropriate consent or lawful basis under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
  • Discriminate against, harass, threaten, or harm any individual or group.

3.2 Misuse of Communication Tools

  • Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) via SMS, push notifications, or in-app messaging.
  • Send messages unrelated to legitimate church activities using church communication channels.
  • Use communication features for political campaigning, commercial advertising, or personal solicitation.
  • Send messages to individuals who have opted out of receiving communications.

3.3 Data Misuse

  • Access, view, or export member data for purposes unrelated to church administration.
  • Share, sell, or disclose member data to third parties without consent.
  • Use member contact information for personal or commercial purposes outside the church context.
  • Collect or store sensitive personal data (health records, financial details beyond church contributions) without explicit consent and lawful basis.

3.4 Platform Integrity

  • Attempt to access another church's data, accounts, or systems.
  • Share login credentials with unauthorised individuals.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of any DaChurchMan software.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the platform.
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with any security feature of the platform.
  • Intentionally overload or disrupt the platform's infrastructure.
  • Upload files containing viruses, malware, or other harmful code.

3.5 Content Standards

  • Upload, post, or share content that is obscene, defamatory, or promotes violence.
  • Share copyrighted material without proper authorisation or licence.
  • Impersonate any person, church, or organisation.
  • Post misleading or false information.
  • Use DaChurchMan Social or church apps to promote content unrelated to faith, church life, or community.

3.6 Financial Misuse

  • Use DaChurchMan Pay for transactions unrelated to the church.
  • Falsify financial records, transactions, or reports.
  • Process fraudulent payments or use the platform for money laundering.

4. Church Administrator Obligations

Church administrators bear additional responsibility for how the platform is used within their church. Administrators must:

  • Ensure all users within their church comply with this AUP.
  • Assign roles and permissions appropriately — granting access only to individuals who need it for their church duties.
  • Obtain and maintain valid consent from members before entering their personal data into the platform.
  • Review and promptly remove access for users who leave their church roles.
  • Report any suspected misuse or security incidents to SageIT Services immediately.
  • Ensure that content marked as public is appropriate and approved by church leadership.

5. Enforcement

SageIT Services reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. If a violation is confirmed, we may take one or more of the following actions at our discretion:

  • Warning: A written notice to the church administrator describing the violation and requesting remediation.
  • Restriction: Temporary limitation of specific features or capabilities.
  • Suspension: Temporary suspension of the church's access to the platform.
  • Termination: Permanent termination of the church's account in accordance with the Service Agreement and Terms of Service.

Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy a violation before taking action, except in cases involving illegal activity, imminent harm, or severe security threats.

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the platform or via email. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
